1929: Manufactured by John Blake Ltd, Accrington. Originally installed at Pixhill Farm, Tedstone Court Estate near Bromyard, Herefordshire. Housed in a small brick building deep in a steep-sided valley. It was used to pump water from a stream to a reservoir.
1930: The scheme lasted less than twelve months, due to a storm in 1930 washing away the dam holding the reservoir water. This RAM then sat in its sunken building for the next 70 years.

1999: This RAM was offered to the Waterworks Museum by Tedstone Court Estate but it took some time to organise and recover the item due to its remote and difficult location.
2006: It was placed outside as a static display after it was found it wasn't possible to restore it to working order as a sufficient head of water could not be provided for this. It can be found as you walk up towards the Tangye building.

Serial Number: S/N 15796
At Tedstone Court, the head of dirty water was 90ft (27m) and this compound ram lifted clean water 400ft (123m) to a reservoir above.

2005/120/A/01: Makers Plate - John Blake Ltd., Engineers, Accrington. Hung on the wall of the Old 'Historic' Workshop inside the museum.
1975/010/A/01: Also from Tedstone Court Estate the museum has a 1889 Warner Hydraulic RAM.

Compound rams are designed to operate by using a head of dirty water to pump clean water.
